Shaping the sonic landscape of Chicago's music scene for two decades as an audio engineer and mixer, Jeff Lane began his career learning song crafting under such prominent producers  as, Peter Mokran (Maxwell), Brendan Obrien (Pearl Jam), Bob Rock (Metallica), Butch Vig (Nirvana), Babyface (Mary J. Blige), and Trent Reznor (NIN).  After working on many platinum albums during the late '90s for bands like  Pearl Jam, and The Smashing Pumpkins, Jeff began to focus on independent local talent engineering for a local punk band The Jesus Lizard.  As a former drummer,  musical rhythms and vocal expressions came naturally for Jeff Lane and the switch from the Rock genre to Rap and R n B took place. Now the local artists from Chicago were artists Crucial Conflict, Do or Die, Twista, and Shawnna, including many non-local artists such as Destiny Child's first album and The Westside Connection.

In 2011, Jeff Lane began working full time with Jeremih.  Moving gear into a 40th-floor penthouse dubbed 555, Jeremih and Jeff found a unique sound that continues to the present day spurring on many radio hits, including featured songs that started within the Jeremih camp.  In December of 2013, on a Sir Mikey Rocks session an artist named Chance the Rapper came in to record a feature for Mikey Rocks, engineered by Jeff Lane.  After that session from 2013 to 2018, Jeff and Chance worked full time together, doing four album-length projects and many featured songs for other artists.  Recording and mixing Coloring Book in 2016 led to a historic shift in the music industry as Chance became the 1st fully independent artist to win a Grammy. Later that year in 2016, Jeremih and Chance came together on overlapping sessions with Jeff, and they completed the entire Merry Christmas Lil Mama project in 12 magical sessions.  The next year they followed up that project with more Christmas material titled, Re-wrapped.

Jeff considers his post-Grammy Rap album of the year era an opportunity to use his high standards of song making experience and partner with artist's to help build brands within the music industry.
